Human subject research has been a hotly debated topic for decades. This course seeks to provide a thorough examination of human subject research, starting with the historical events that led to current ethical guidelines. Roles of the clinician versus the researcher are explored using true-to-life graphic scenarios. Crucial components necessary for the ethical performance of research involving humans are identified, including the role the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and governmental agencies play.
