The 21st Annual International Congress on the Future of Breast Cancer

The 21st Annual International Congress on the Future of Breast Cancer® East will provide clinicians with cutting-edge updates on recent advances in the treatment of breast cancer, from preclinical breakthroughs to changes in clinical treatment paradigms. Novel agents and improved regimens, coupled with more in-depth molecular and phenotypic subtyping, are driving the future of breast cancer therapy. This dynamic program will focus on the practical implications of emerging data for patient care in the clinic. Recent data and their clinical impact are highlighted throughout the program, with expert perspectives on how to apply the evidence to individualize therapy for patients with breast cancer. Current areas of controversy or uncertainty will also be debated, with discussion of ongoing clinical trials and investigational approaches designed to address these questions. This conference provides a unique opportunity for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists and other health care professionals to learn from and interact with international leaders in the field of breast cancer to increase knowledge, apply new data to practice, and, ultimately, improve patient outcomes.

The learning objectives of this program are:

Integrate results from genomic and/or molecular biomarker assays to characterize tumor subtype, assess risk, and individualize treatment selection for patients with breast cancer
Discuss emerging data and evolving recommendations regarding the individualization of surgery and radiation therapy for patients with non-metastatic breast cancer in order to effectively coordinate multidisciplinary care
Incorporate evidence from recent clinical trials of systemic agents for the treatment of early-stage and metastatic breast cancer into personalized treatment plans to ensureoptimal patient outcomes
Assess emerging data from clinical trials of novel investigational agents for the treatment of breast cancer, and how these data may impact treatment algorithms
Implement multidisciplinary team-based strategies for recognizing and managing treatment-related adverse events for patients with breast cancer in order to reduce risk of harm while maintaining efficacy

Target Audience

This educational activity is intended for medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists involved in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of breast cancer may also participate.
