Who this policy covers
This policy explains how md.education handles information about people who visit the site. md.education is an independent listing service for medical training conferences. We are not the organisation that delivers the training, and we do not enrol anyone or take payment on this site.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you complete an information request form we receive your name, email address, telephone number, professional title, state or region, the conference you asked about, and whatever you write in the message field.
- Live chat. On conference pages that offer chat, the messages you type and the time of the conversation are processed by LiveChat, our chat provider.
- Telephone calls. Calls to the number published on this site are routed through a call tracking service, which records the calling number, the time and the duration so we can tell which pages generate enquiries.
- Automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you open, the page that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
Why we use it
- To answer your question about a specific conference or course.
- To pass your enquiry to the training provider whose admissions team can actually answer it. If you send an enquiry, expect that provider to contact you.
- To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
Who else processes it
These are the services involved, each under its own privacy terms:
- Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic measurement, and Google Fonts for typography.
- LiveChat for the chat widget where it appears.
- Mailgun to deliver form submissions to us by email.
- CallRail for call tracking.
- Cloudflare and public content delivery networks, which see your IP address in order to serve the page.
- The training provider named on the conference page you enquired about.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful for following up, and analytics data is retained under the retention period configured in Google Analytics. Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will.
Your choices
You can decline analytics cookies through the cookie banner, and change that choice at any time from the link in the footer. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR; we apply these choices to everyone regardless of location.
Children
This site is intended for licensed medical professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
